Ebony is a short
hair pure black cat with green eyes. He is very beautiful and very
special. I don't know if I would survive without my wonderful companion.
Ebony found me one hot summer day,
he just showed up and jumped on my lap. I had lost my dog one year earlier. To make a long story short I
developed a goiter and it got so large I had to have surgery to remove my
thyroid, when this took place they took my parathyroid. I had a bad seizure the
day after I got out of the hospital, luckily my sister was there at the time. I
spent two months in the hospital, on my return I had to take calcium pills every
four hours. After a few days I started sleeping through the alarm I had to set
every four hours around the clock, Ebony woke me up and wouldn't shut up until I
took my pills. In short he kept me alive.
I now live on
IVs every day and a host of other pills, but I am never allowed to miss any of
them. He knows what time I have to take my pills; each pill at a different time.
I live alone and am at risk to have a seizure and die any minute. He knows
when I am not doing well and will not shut up until I call someone. In short he
is my nurse and my best friend.
